Transits and orbs
Transits are aspects between where the planets are now and where they were when you were born.
Your birth chart is fixed, but the sky keeps moving. When a planet in today's sky forms an aspect to a planet or angle in your chart, that is a transit. Astrologers use transits to talk about timing: the chapters of life, not single events.
Fast planets like the Moon and Mercury make transits that last hours or days. Slow planets make the ones that matter most: Jupiter's last weeks, Saturn's months, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto can work on the same point for a year or more. When a planet turns retrograde it can cross the same point two or three times, so a theme returns before it resolves.
As with natal aspects, a transit has an orb: it builds as the planet approaches the exact angle and fades as it leaves. Lunastra's full report and AI astrologer use the exact dates we calculate for your chart, so the timing you read comes from the real sky.
