Aspects

Aspects are meaningful angles between planets: how the parts of you work together or pull apart.

When two planets sit at certain angles from each other, astrologers say they form an aspect. The five major aspects are the conjunction (0°), sextile (60°), square (90°), trine (120°) and opposition (180°).

Conjunctions blend two principles into one strong voice. Sextiles and trines are easy: they bring talent and opportunity, sometimes so naturally that you take them for granted. Squares and oppositions bring friction and polarity; they are often where the most growth happens, because they ask you to act and to find balance.

Aspects do not need to be exact. The allowed distance from the exact angle is called the orb; the tighter the orb, the stronger the aspect. On your chart, harmonious aspects are drawn in green and tense ones in red.
